Biography
Ni de aqui, ni de allá (neither here, nor there)
Hugo Zelada-Romero is an interdisciplinary artist of Guatemalan heritage and a 2020 graduate of Wichita State University with a BFA in photo media. His work considers notions of representation and perception in regards to information, identity and visual culture through lens-based media in a hybrid approach to art making, combining analog and digital practices. His experiences as a first generation immigrant inform his artistic world view. Hugo is interested in the way in which images function as an expression of belief.
